Back into the fray.

Markesha isn’t going to take no for an answer from Franco.  

Franco is being obstinate about giving Markesha work. Out of concern for his other runners, naturally.

Negotiations between Franco and Markesha reach a pivotal moment.

It turns out Franco does have a run for Markesha. Just not the normal, everyday, “legal” kind.  

Despite being blind, Toshi keeps himself busy and informed while Markesha is out running mystery packages.  

Toshi’s been writing a (completely unpublished) detective series set during the Withering at a refugee camp, for years. His 7th book, Maya Shore: Wither Without You, is turning out to be a hopeless slog, just like the news.

Rampant, nagging worry has Toshi tempted to reopen parts of his past he’s locked away.
